Sara Farnan Colleary, MS RD LDN

Registered Dietitian, Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Specialist

Sara Farnan Colleary received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Boston College in 1999. Thereafter, she moved to the West Coast to teach 5th and 6th grade and then worked as a counselor for homeless and runaway youth. In 2003, she moved back to the Boston area to work at Harvard Medical School and then at Tufts University School of Nutrition. In 2009, Sara received her Master of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition from Framingham State University, where she was awarded the Mead Johnson Nutritionals/Bristol-Myers Scholarship as well as the Alumni General Graduate Scholarship. Sara gained her title as a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the summer of 2009 and began working as a Pediatric Clinical Nutrition Specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital where she is still employed. Sara also counsels patients at Pediatric Associates of Wellesley and at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. Sara’s work in the field of dietetics has focused on liver and intestinal transplant, ulcerative colitis, diabetes, eating disorders, overweight and obesity. She has presented research at both the Massachusetts Dietetic Association and the International Pediatric Transplant Association annual conferences. Sara plans to continue to expand her expertise in the field of Medical Nutrition Therapy for the pediatric population as her career moves forward.
